Our Work & Projects

Fostering sustainable, faith-driven community development.

Initiatives in Zimbabwe

Our work in Zimbabwe is focused on restoring hope, dignity, and self-sufficiency, with Chivi District as our pilot region. We collaborate closely with local authorities, churches, and social services to implement community-centred programs.

Sustainable Agriculture

Our agricultural initiatives aim to empower families through self-sustaining projects that promote resilience and responsible stewardship. We provide training and resources to help communities break the cycle of dependency.

Income-Generating Projects

We seek to motivate individuals and communities to engage in income-generating projects that foster self-reliance, hope, and faith. This includes globally connected craft enterprises and other initiatives that create economic dignity.

Sustainable Tourism, Land Restoration & Reforestation

Bukira is committed to promoting sustainable tourism, land restoration, and reforestation as a means to enhance local wildlife conservation and improve community livelihoods. Our project is based in Chivi, at the foot of a granite mountain range where farmers have long struggled with crop losses caused by baboons and monkeys. These human–wildlife conflicts are largely driven by severe deforestation, as local communities have depleted forest resources through the harvesting of wild fruits and cutting of trees for firewood.

In response, Bukira seeks to restore ecological balance by rehabilitating degraded landscapes and reviving indigenous fruit-bearing and drought-resistant tree species. Our initiative aims to reintroduce culturally and ecologically significant species such as matamba, baobab, musuma, and other native varieties. Through structured reforestation campaigns—particularly timed with the onset of tropical rains—we will begin replanting efforts within forest areas and later expand to surrounding communities in collaboration with village leadership.

Environmental Education

A core component of this program is environmental education. Many young people in the region no longer have knowledge of indigenous trees, their ecological roles, or their cultural value. Bukira therefore intends to partner with local schools to integrate reforestation and conservation activities into their learning programs, cultivating environmental stewardship among the next generation.

Wildlife & Ecosystem Research

Furthermore, we will engage environmental and wildlife experts to assess how restored ecosystems can support sustainable tourism, scientific research, and community-based wildlife management. By rehabilitating natural habitats and promoting responsible use of wildlife resources, Bukira aims to create long-term benefits for biodiversity conservation, climate resilience, and local economic development.

Outreach in the United Kingdom

Beyond Zimbabwe, we extend compassion to vulnerable adults and the elderly in the United Kingdom. Our goal is to cultivate mutual understanding, healing, and reconciliation through acts of service and shared humanity.

Community Engagement

Our initiatives engage with nursing homes and other care institutions, operating fully within local safeguarding frameworks. We strive to contribute to renewed relationships grounded in forgiveness, cooperation, and love.
