Who We Are

Bukira Relief Project, registered as a Private Voluntary Organization (PVO) in Zimbabwe in March 2025 (Registration No. 80/2025), is a faith-based NGO committed to serving vulnerable communities in Zimbabwe and the United Kingdom.

Guided by Christian values and the principles of compassion, justice, and service, our mission is to support orphans, widows, and the elderly while fostering sustainable, faith-driven community development. Our ethos draws inspiration from biblical narratives, emphasizing resilience, hope, and meaningful relationships as pathways to social transformation.

Our Mission

Bukira Relief Organisation is a faith-based initiative inspired by Christian biblical values, dedicated to restoring hope, dignity, and self-sufficiency among vulnerable communities in Zimbabwe, beginning with Chivi District as our pilot region.

Our mission is to provide sustainable relief and empowerment through initiatives that promote productivity, diligence, and resilience—ensuring that assistance leads to long-term transformation rather than dependency. Rooted in the love of Christ, we seek to motivate individuals and communities to engage in income-generating projects that foster self-reliance, hope, and faith.

Beyond Zimbabwe, Bukira Relief Organisation also extends compassion to vulnerable adults and the elderly in the United Kingdom, cultivating mutual understanding, healing, and reconciliation between the two nations through acts of service and shared humanity.

Our Vision

Bukira envisions a world where communities in Zimbabwe’s most vulnerable regions transform aid into sustainable prosperity. Guided by principles of fairness, faith, and innovation, we strive to empower families through self-sustaining agricultural initiatives, income-generating projects, and globally connected craft enterprises. By promoting resilience, responsible stewardship, and productive partnerships between donors and beneficiaries, Bukira seeks to break the cycle of dependency, foster economic dignity, and cultivate hope that endures across generations.

Our Core Values

Our organization is founded on the conviction that hope and encouragement can transform lives, especially for individuals confronting severe adversity. We are committed to inspiring people to discover their purpose in God and to cultivate qualities of diligence, honesty, and perseverance—virtues exemplified in the biblical figure of Ruth.

Our History

Over the past decade, while awaiting formal registration, our organization has been actively engaged in providing humanitarian assistance to vulnerable families facing socio-economic hardships. Our interventions have supported individuals struggling to access essential needs such as medical care, education, and food.

Despite operating with limited resources, our team remained deeply committed to extending help from personal means whenever possible. Inspired by the support we ourselves have received from generous individuals and institutions over the years, we envisioned the creation of a structured and accountable platform through which the culture of giving could be strengthened.
